Get to know Lee

Jae Lee is the co-founder and CEO of Twelve Labs, a pioneering company building state-of-the-art multimodal foundation models that empower developers and enterprises to extract deep insights from complex video data. Under his leadership, Twelve Labs is redefining how machines understand video — unlocking new possibilities across industries from media to security to enterprise intelligence. Before founding Twelve Labs, Jae served as Lead Data Scientist at the Ministry of National Defense in Korea, where he applied machine learning to national-scale challenges. He also gained industry experience as a software engineering intern at both Amazon and Samsung, building a strong foundation at the intersection of AI, data, and scalable infrastructure.

Jae holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from UC Berkeley, making this event a meaningful return to the university where his journey in technology and entrepreneurship began.
